Food Day at London Climate Action Week 2026

Food-Day-at-London-Climate-Action-Week-2026

Food systems sit at the heart of the climate, nature and health crises; yet they remain underrepresented in global climate dialogue. Food Day at London Climate Action Week 2026 will place food firmly on the climate agenda with its 2026 theme ‘a dialogue on food system resilience, risk and transformation’, convening leaders and practitioners from across the food system for a dedicated day of conversations, connections and collaboration.

Taking place on Monday 22 June 2026 at the iconic Science Museum in London, Food Day will bring together funders, policymakers, investors, businesses, civil society, academics and innovators to explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of food. Hosted during one of the world’s leading climate weeks, the day will provide a focused platform to examine how food systems can drive climate action, resilience and transformation at scale.

Presented by the Jeremy Coller Foundation, principal funder of the Science Museum’s Future of Food exhibition, and hosted with the support of Coefficient Giving, The European Climate Foundation, The FAIRR Initiative, Green Alliance, APA, The Good Food Institute, and Table Debates, Food Day will combine thought-provoking discussions with a unique cultural setting. Across a curated programme of panels and conversations, participants will exchange insights, build new partnerships and identify pathways to accelerate progress towards climate-resilient, sustainable food systems.

By fostering dialogue across sectors and disciplines, Food Day aims not only to elevate the role of food within the climate agenda, but to catalyse meaningful action connecting ideas, capital and influence to help deliver food systems that work for people, planet and climate.

Why Food?

Food systems are one of the most powerful, and underutilised, levers for climate action. They are responsible for a significant share of global greenhouse gas emissions, are deeply intertwined with nature loss and biodiversity decline, and play a critical role in livelihoods, public health and food security worldwide.

Yet food is often treated as a peripheral issue in climate discussions. Food Day at London Climate Action Week 2026 seeks to change that by shining a spotlight on the policies, investments and innovations needed to transform how food is produced, distributed and consumed.

From agriculture and supply chains to alternative proteins, regenerative practices and just transitions for workers and communities, Food Day will explore how food systems can become more resilient, equitable and climate-positive, and what it will take to get there.

What to Expect

Food Day will feature a curated programme of high-level panels, conversations and networking moments designed to encourage open exchange and practical collaboration. Sessions will bring together diverse perspectives, bridging the gap between finance, policy, business, science and civil society.

Participants can expect:

  • Insightful discussions on the risks and opportunities shaping global food systems

  • Cross-sector perspectives on climate resilience, innovation and transformation

  • Opportunities to connect with peers, partners and decisionmakers working on food and climate

  • A unique cultural setting within the Science Museum, including access to the Future of Food exhibition

The day will conclude with dedicated networking moments, offering space for informal conversations and relationship -building.

Who Is This Event For?

Food Day is designed for anyone shaping, or seeking to shape, the future of food systems within the climate agenda, including:

  • Funders and philanthropies supporting climate, nature and food system solutions

  • Investors and financial institutions managing food-system-related risks and opportunities

  • Policymakers and public sector leaders working on climate, agriculture, trade and food policy

  • Food and agriculture businesses across the value chain

  • Civil society organisations and NGOs advancing sustainable, just and resilient food systems

  • Researchers, academics and experts specialising in food systems, climate and nature

By convening this diverse audience in one place, Food Day aims to foster dialogue that goes beyond silos and supports collaboration across disciplines and sectors.

Why the Science Museum?

Hosting Food Day at the Science Museum offers a powerful connection between dialogue, evidence and public engagement. As one of the world’s leading cultural institutions, the museum provides a compelling setting for conversations about science-based solutions and systemic change.

The Jeremy Coller Foundation, as principal funder of the museum’s Future of Food exhibition, supports the use of this space to stimulate informed discussion on how food systems intersect with climate, nature and society. The exhibition itself offers a holistic exploration of food’s future, from farming and technology to consumption and culture, complementing the themes explored throughout Food Day.

Our Aim

At its core, Food Day at London Climate Action Week 2026 is about connection and momentum. By bringing together people, ideas and expertise, the event aims to elevate food within the climate agenda and help translate ambition into action.

Through dialogue, partnership and shared learning, Food Day seeks to contribute to the collective effort to build food systems that are resilient, sustainable and fit for a climate-constrained world.
